Project Step 4:  Interim Presentation

We are at the middle of the semester and it is time to expose your great ideas for your project to class-wide scrutiny. This will be an opportunity to get outside feedback for your projects.

FORMAT:  Each team will have about 15 minutes to present the problem, design space, how formative evaluation affected your design, and the final design including illustrations. There will then be 5 minutes of feedback from the class. The presentation should be based on your written team reports from project steps 2 (req. analysis) and 3 (design & formative). Of course, if you have improved or changed the idea then you will need to describe that in your presentation instead. But most teams should feel free to reuse images and diagrams that were developed for the reports.

The time limit will be strictly enforced.

If there is one thing that matters most, it will be lots of rehearsal. Rehearsal includes getting the timing right, polishing the material and presentation, and thinking about answers to questions and deciding who will answer which question. Some of you already have some practice presenting in front of the class with your Hall of Fame / Hall of Shame presentations and all of you should be learning by watching others. Therefore, we expect crisp and clear presentations.

NOTE TAKING:  Each team must designate one member to record class feedback.

TEAM ORDER:  The presentations take place the week after you hand in Project Step 3, Design & Formative Evaluation.

Teams 4-7 on Oct 14
Teams 1-3 on Oct 16.

Bring presentations to class on a laptop, CD, or USB key.
